How to get your Restricted-licence

To get your Restricted Licence, you will need to pass a practical driving test to show you are able to follow road rules and drive safely. The Restricted Licence test will take about 1 hour. It includes a pre-drive safety check and a practical driving test, with time for results/feedback at the end.

The practical driving test is separated into 2 stages – basic driving and complex driving. Throughout the test, you must demonstrate safe decision-making, observation of the road rules, and satisfactory car-handling skills. It is recommended that Learner drivers complete at least 120 hours of supervised driving in different road conditions before sitting their Restricted Licence test.

The more time you spend driving, the more likely you will pass your Restricted Licence test. To help you learn to drive with confidence, we recommend to book 10 driving sessions for complete beginners in driving and five sessions for those preparing for the practical test.
