About Us

Puketāpapa Community Driving School is a full-service, community-owned social enterprise dedicated to making driver training and simulated testing more accessible and affordable for youth, women, migrants and former refugees.

In December 2017 the PETER Collective, a group of local organisations working together in Puketāpapa to improve education, training and employment outcomes established the driving school as a social enterprise.

Migrant Action Trust (MAT) became the lead organisation managing the community driving school, with partners RULE Education, UMMA Trust, Wesley Community Centre and Aotearoa Resettled Community Coalition (ARCC).

We continuously explore and develop the social enterprise’s operational capacity to cater for the 200+ in the waitlist in becoming confident and safer drivers around the community.

"Ehara taku toa, he takitahi, he toa takitini"

"My success should not be bestowed onto me alone, as it was not individual success, but success of a collective"

Shaila was very thorough and she explained very well so I understood more than just the driving rules but the concept behind them.
